REDMI A2 and A2+ All Features
Redmi has launched two new budget smartphones in India. These phones are - the Redmi A2 and the Redmi A2 Plus. The series has been launched at a starting price of Rs 5,999. The Redmi A2 Plus is the more expensive model of the two, just as the name suggests. Some of the key features of the Redmi A2 Plus include - an octa-core Helio G36 processor, a 6.52-inch display, a 120Hz touch sampling rate, a 500mAh battery with 10W in-box charger, an 8-megapixel dual camera system, and more.
In terms of design, the Redmi A2 phones look like any other budget smartphone. Both smartphones are available in three colour options: Sea Green, Calming Aqua Blue, and Classic Black. Interested buyers can head over to Amazon.in, Mi.com, Mi Home and all retail stores on May 23 at 12 noon to purchase the smartphone.
Redmi A2, Redmi A2 Plus price in India
Redmi has priced both phones competitively. The Redmi A2 Plus comes in only one variant with 4GB + 64GB. This model is priced at Rs 8499. The Redmi A2 comes in three variants -- 2GB + 32GB for Rs 5,999, 2GB + 64GB for Rs 6,499 and 4GB + 64GB for Rs 7,499. As a part of the introductory offer, ICICI bank card holders can avail of an additional instant discount of up to Rs 500 on the purchase of these devices.
Redmi A2, Redmi A2 Plus specifications
Both the budget Redmi phones come with a 6.52-inch HD Plus, which the company claims offers an "excellent viewing experience through bright colours and sharper details". The smartphones also feature 120Hz touch sampling rate, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and an in-built FM radio app for entertainment on the go.
On the hardware front, the Redmi A2 series is powered by the latest octa-core MediaTek Helio G36 processor coupled with up to 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The company claims that smartphones "deliver smooth and lag-free performance that ensures a smooth gaming and multimedia experience to the users." The octa-core Helio G36 processor is coupled with up to 7GB RAM which includes 3GB virtual RAM.
The phones come with a 5000mAh paired with a 10W in-box charger. Redmi claims that on a "single full charge with no further activity, the smartphones can be on standby for more than a month (32 days). With moderate usage like music playback and video playback, they can last up to 150 hours (32 hours for video playback)."
In terms of camera specifications, the Redmi A2 series comes packed with a rear 8-megapixel dual camera system, which the company claims offers "a crystal-clear video calling experience". The phones also bundled features like portrait mode, time-lapse and short videos.
